Naomi House

Life Training for Mothers

Newsletter

As I am writing this letter, there is much turmoil on Wall Street and many are very concerned about the future. I have no idea what the future holds. I do however know the One who is called the Provider. God is not worried. He is not surprised. And He has a plan for each person in Wautoma, and our country and our state. We simply have to trust Him, not trust in our old way of thinking.

This is what we teach the women who come through the doors of Naomi House. Each of them has had financial crisis, so much so, as to be faced with being homeless. For them we can’t just give them “ Five Steps to Financial Freedom”. Each woman faces unique challenges and some of the steps along the way are more like mountains. Many times getting a job is only part of the answer. There may be debt owed, bad credit issues, and child support to pay. Each circumstance is unique and takes time to reconcile.

Our residents need a miracle. They need a miracle to help them think differently, be healed of past hurts, or to change patterns of bad choices. Or all of these at once. They have burned bridges that they have no ability to rebuild, without God’s help. A woman may need a miracle to learn how to be a good mother, having had only a poor example in her own mother.

We also make each women aware of all the resources available to her in the community for job training, housing assistance, medical assistance, debt counseling, mental health counseling, etc. We are thankful for all the wonderful programs in our area.

None of this would be possible without people like you donating time, money, and supplies to Naomi House.

We are so thankful for all the response we have received from a recent need for food and money at Naomi House. I hate ask for help, which is silly, but Diane and Debbie (our previous House Manager) got the word out about the need. We were overwhelmed with the response! Thank you to each and every one who responded. A special thanks to Jennifer Carevella and the group from the Department of Human Services who got a food drive going the day after the word got out. We appreciate everyone so much!!

We are always in need of donations and encourage you to consider taking the “Naomi House Challenge

If you were not able to make it to our Open House in May, please call and make an appointment to stop by and check out what we’re doing. Feel free to bring your group for a tour as well.
